Support where it matters.
For the life you share.

When your poodle comes home, you can still call or email me. I know where their journey began, and I’m here to help you find your feet together.

Health testing · Orivet

Clear information. Conversations you can trust.

Every Toy, Miniature and Standard Poodle in the Sebtus breeding program completes the relevant Orivet Full Breed Profile, including DNA profiling, genetic health screening and trait testing. We welcome questions about the testing behind your companion and take time to explain the individual dog's records with you.

We use the Toy Poodle, Miniature Poodle or Standard Poodle Full Breed Profile for the relevant variety. These profiles combine genetic health tests, information about inherited traits and a DNA identity profile. We explain the relevant individual reports with you, including which records belong to the parents of a puppy you are considering.

You are welcome to ask to see the reports and talk through what they mean before making a decision. Our aim is for you to feel informed and comfortable asking questions.

DNA testing is one part of understanding a dog's health. It does not test for every possible condition or replace veterinary care.

About Orivet's testing

Testing across all three varieties

What our breeding dogs are tested for

All dogs in our breeding program complete their variety's Orivet Full Breed Profile. The profiles below share the genetic health screening list shown here.

Genetic health screening in all three profiles

You do not need to recognise every test name. We are happy to talk through the information relevant to your poodle and answer your questions.

DNA profiling and inherited traits

The Full Breed Profiles also include DNA profiling and trait tests. These provide information about inherited features such as coat colour, curl, furnishings and colour intensity. The trait panels vary by poodle variety; the individual report records the tests and results for that dog.

Coat and trait results are separate from genetic health results. Our conversations about matching still begin with temperament, everyday needs and your family.

These are the tests completed for our breeding dogs, rather than a statement that every puppy has been individually tested or that every result is clear. We explain the relevant results and their meaning with you. Testing helps inform breeding decisions; it cannot guarantee a dog will never develop a health condition.

Part of welcoming your Sebtus companion

You don't have to work it all out alone

Whether you welcome a baby puppy or an older dog, this ongoing guidance is included as part of your Sebtus journey. You do not need to book a paid Academy session to ask an everyday care question.

Before coming home

A familiar starting point

Before you head home, I’ll talk you through what your dog eats, their familiar routine, grooming needs and what they have been learning. We’ll go through their records and your questions together.

As you settle in

Someone to ask

If the first nights, toileting or introductions leave you unsure, call or email me. Tell me what is happening and I’ll help you work through a practical next step.

As life changes

A connection that continues

A changing coat, a new routine or a question months later? You are still welcome to get in touch. I can help with everyday care questions and talk through when more hands-on help would be useful.

Reach us by email or phone. Tell us your dog's name and what you need help with. If your family would benefit from a dedicated practical session, we can discuss a separately booked Sebtus Academy session and its fee beforehand. Health concerns should be taken to your vet.

Life after coming home · Abby & Duchess

Her first try at home. Someone to share it with.

After three Academy sessions with Bradley, Abby tried grooming Duchess at home for the first time. She started with Duchess’s points, leaving the body for another day, and sent photos back to Bradley for feedback.

“Definitely not perfect but I’m very pleased for my first go!”

“And thank you so much for all the time you spent teaching me! I felt pretty confident going into it and that was all thanks to you ❤️”

Sebtus family and Academy participant

As she kept practising, Abby shared more photos and questions. She had someone who knew Duchess to turn to while building her own skills.

Everyday aftercare keeps that connection open. For families who want hands-on grooming tuition, Academy sessions are booked separately.

Always part of the Sebtus family

A home away from home

Going away? Your Sebtus poodle is welcome to come back and holiday with me. It is a familiar connection for your dog and someone you already know caring for them while you are away.

Get in touch with your dates and your dog's current routine so we can plan their stay together. Holiday stays are arranged separately, subject to availability and your dog's needs. We confirm care arrangements and any fees with you beforehand.
